hey ppl....i'm BACK from btn camp!
yea i'm still alive....
it was not that terrible as the seniors told us...
of course, my whole body is aching right now...my eyes are lk panda bcoz of sleep depriviation...my legs are full of scratches.....
BUT----i had a great fun there...it was AWESOME!!
1st day...20April09
we started off our journey at 12pm & reached there at 1.45pm.
our camp was in Kem Bina Negara, Tanjung Rhu, Sepang.
actually the journey from INTI to there only takes about half an hour....
but all of us got lost!...we reached Kem Princess Haliza instead!!!
Finally, we reached our destination.....
however, there was no one there to 'sambut' us...& all of us were like 'terkapai-kapai'.
after all the registration & briefing....we moved to our respective dorms.
then we had dinner & after that....the 1st pembentangan kertas kerja entitled 'Tanah Air'.
it was a 2hours 'ceramah'....the speaker was humorous & he made me laugh lk crazy!
after that, we had 'minum malam' at 11.15pm before we went into slumber land.
2nd day...21April09
all of us woke up at 5.30 in the morning...
for muslim, they had a 'takzirah' session...
for non-muslim, we had moral session...
the person in-charge(Tuan Kamal) showed us a video related to the history of M'sia.
Then, we had 'perbarisan'...breakfast...followed by the 2nd pembentangan kertas kerja entitled 'kerajaan'...'minum pagi'...3rd pembentangan kertas kerja 'rakyat'....lunch....4th pembentangan kertas kerja 'kedaulatan'....then 'minum petang'.
all the speakers provide us lots of input regarding M'sia.
at that point, i realized that how little my knowledge is....
'sejarah' is known as a subject for us to practice our memorizing ability...
Today, i know that dis perception is the biggest MISTAKE for all the citizen of M'sia...esp for us who r leaving to another country soon.
after the 'minum ptg', we had a physical test to determine our 'real age' which comprised of pumping, hold breath, rope skip, spin around, pulse rate, jump & clap, stand on 1 leg.....& so on.
i fall under the age of 35-39.....swt!!!!
after dinner, we had the 1st Latihan Dalam Kumpulan (LDK).
everyone was divided into groups of 8....& i was in the 8th group..the theme song for our group was 'M'sia Tanah Airku'.....(never heard that song b4!)
3rd day...22April09
again, woke up at 5.30am for moral sessison, perbarisan, breakfast, LDK 2, 3, 4, & 5.
our facilitator was En Asharie....i think he was the best compared to other groups'.
basically, the LDK was lk some sort of group dicussion about issues in this country.
we are required to voice out our opinion in BAHASA MALAYSIA....(i was glad that i didn't stuck here & there due to the long termination of using BM)
the best part on this day was KEMBARA!
we had to go through a journey of seaside, swamp, river & jungle.
we managed to take some pictures while walking at the beach...OoOps!!
the whole journey was not that easy with all those smelly swamp...
furthermore, group 8 was the last group...it was quite scary to 'kembara' when the sky was getting dark!
overall, i had fun although i stucked & fall into the disgusting swamp for few times.
4th day...23April09
the same routine, woke up at 5.30am for moral session.
then, we had another test....2km run.
the time limit was 18minutes for male & 24minutes for female.
i managed to complete it in 17minutes. (quite slow coz i walked)
well, my feet were so painful after that!....what to do laa!...hv to walk even though it was freaking hurt!
After that,we continued with LDK 6, 7, & 8.
Then, it was the time for ABSEILING!!!
we had to 'fly' down from a 3-storey height tower by using a rope!
i was damn excited!!!!
the scenery up there was really nice....i enjoyed the nice view up there!
& the process of 'flying' down was really fun...
so sad that we only can do it for once....:(
Continued with the last LDK....
LDK 9 was in the auditorium...it was a wrap-up session for all the LDK & performance from respective groups.
our theme song was 'M'sia Tanah Airku'...it was damn hard to sing!
i think our group's performance is the most simple & boring one!
nevertheless, we were the 'Naik Juara' for the night!!!!...WoooOOoo...Group 8 rockz!!!
after all the performances, there was some activities & a video session.
abt the video....
frankly speaking, i was damn depress during & after i watched it.
i can't imagine that 1 day, M'sia would end up lk that....& history would repeat again.
at that point, i wished that this video can be showed to all the Malaysians...esp the youngsters who will be the future leader of the nation.
i dunno how to express my feeling in words...perhaps...is FEAR....
LDK 9 ended late....abt 12.15am...
then we had 'minum malam'...
slept at 1am.
5th day...24April09
FINAL day!!!
woke up at 5.30...went for moral session, gt no perbarisan, a short taklimat for the exam & ckeck out.
after breakfast, we went back to our dorm to pack our things & prepare for the exam.
i managed to touch & go of all the books given.
the exam consisted of 60 MCQ questions.
actually it was quite OK.....all common sense questions that do not requires special knowledge.
finally, the closing ceremony.
In a nutshell, i gained lots of knowledge, insight, values, & skills from this camp.
i certainly agree that all high school students should be given a chance to participate in this camp....perhaps, make it compulsory or prerequisite for both local/private institution in M'sia.
'Prevention is Better Than Cure'....all of us have to do something before the germs spread lk wild fire.
HISTORY is not for us to memorize,
HISTORY is for us to grab & pick up the lesson behind the scene.
As i traveled back to my home by using public transport at night,
i stared throught the scenery outside the windows...the view of M'sia.
i imagined what it looks lk in 10 years from now,
more advance......or.......just a sea of deceased lk what is happening in other countries now.
the best way to prevent the infection in our society is through education.
TEACHERS & PARENTS play a crucial role in educating the young...
in stressing the base of advancement in M'sia...which is UNITY....!!!
